Flash Foodie is a service that makes cooking easier by offering a place to track all the ingredients in your home and only suggest recipes you can cook. Additionally, users will have access to helpful features that suggest helpful tips for cooking, or recommend current ingredients on sale or in season. This model will offer people an easy way to manage groceries and find recipes to cook.
Design Challenge
Cooking is a constant in people’s lives so when I set out to accomplish my project it was likely that a similar service already existed. I found websites with similar functions to my project, but with some flaws in design or lacking the functionality I intended to have. While no one service had everything I sought to have it was challenging having to compare my project to the best aspects of several different services.
Design Solution
Flash Foodie is a tool that all chefs can use, but most notably it lowers the barrier of entry for novice chefs. This gives them the information they need to begin their culinary journey, by offering an easy way to track ingredients and find recipes to cook.
